In this section of the book i read called a Child Called It David begins to resent his siblings because of all of the abuse he is enduring. The adversrity lies where David is trying to manage to stay alive and stay in a different mind set and that mind set is do whatever you have to, to survive. I can relate in a different way to what is happening to the main character in a different sense when wanting to escape your own personal hell by taking you mind somewhere else in order to keep pushing past something hard.
I can relate because in some sense i went threw somewhat of a abusive past let me say escaping is the way to go and a lot of councling later on.

The book I chose was Tuesdays with Morrie. Morrie wa a college professor who was diagnosed with ALS. Despite his death sentence he made an oath to stay positive and live his remaining days to the fullest. One Of Morrie's favorite students Mitchell, saw his teacher's story on TV and after losing touch for many years came to visit him. Morrie looks much different then Mitch remembers, however, he is just as knowledgeable and continues to to teach About his life. This is a very emotional boo. It makes me appreciate life and how short it can be cut sometimes. I think that Mitch will continue to visit Morrie to learn about all the life lessons Morrie can share.I can't really make any connections to my own life yet since I have never gone through something like this but people in my family have had diseases that caused them to know they are dying and are just waiting for it to come. I'm interested in finding out what Morrie's life lessons are.

Michael Phelps explains the 400 freestyle meter relay race and how team US anchor Jason Lezak was slightly behind the French at the start then the australian team pulled ahead too. But Jason had a strong push in the last 40 meters. Team US was screaming along with the rest of the beijing arena. Team US won by .08 seconds. This gave Michael his first gold medal of the 2008 games. He eventually won 8 but it wasn't easy he had to physically and mentally be stronger then his opponents. This made me realize how Michael winnning 8 gold medals is so special. I knew he had one close race but know I realize he probably had a lot of close races. Next I believe the other beijing races michael was in to win 8 gold medals will be explained. This reminds me of some cross country races where I beat people by tenths of a second to get the places I wanted.

In the section I read Tim Tebow told about how he was nominated for a heisman trophy. He had a massive headache and ended up losing to someone else. He made a promise that he would lead his team to victory. I was very surprised that he made such a bold promise. I believe Tim will live up to his promise. This book reminds me of when I played football.

Bernie Webber had a flashback of about how he married his wife. His flashback ended and he started to prepare his crew for the perilous journey to the t2 tanker.
Bernie is facing the rough seas in a 36 foot boat and will have to rescue a crew of a tanker boat.
I was amazed at how fast he married his love. It was only two months of dating.
I predict that Bernie will force his way through the rough seas and make it to the tanker in time.
I cannot make any connections to Bernie at this time or to the obstacles he is about to face.

I think people have a right to their own life and should be able to do what they want with it. I predict the verdict will be not guilty and Dr. Kevorkian will walk free.
I connected with this section because I understand what if feels like to think a different way than the group youŕe surrounded in.

I am reading a type of biography on former president Abraham Lincoln. So far, it has explained who he was as an individual, where he was born, and a little bit of his family background. At this point in time in the book, he is not really facing any type of problems or adversity. I’m not really having too many emotions while reading this book, but I find it slightly intriguing. I have previously read a biography on Abraham Lincoln when I was in 4th grade so I already have quite a bit of knowledge of what is going to happen within the next couple chapters of the book. I predict that he will end up running for president and creating the emancipation proclamation. I don’t really see any ways that I can make any personal connections with him and/or his story.

EW 4th Hour, book: Unstoppable
Nick Vujicic is talking about his life and how he has no arm and no legs and how he keep his faith in god. He is motivational speaker and evangelist. He travels the world and talking with large groups about his adversity in his life. He is talking about now how life will never goes as planned and if your having a bad day but keep for faith and things will get better.
Nick didn't have any arms or legs when he was born, and he believed that nobody would ever like him.
I have seen Nick speak before and he is a very ahppy man that is happy with how life is going and wants everybody to know that life doesn't go as plan at times and things will get better soon.
That he will talk about ways to help deal with adversity in our lives.
Having the feeling that people are judging you. But people are changing and are moving one. And that is okay to lose people in your life because everybody is different and no two people are the same.

His father, Alois, did not appreciate Adolf’s gift of public speaking. He seemed to be a normal child. He was active in his monastery's choir. I predict that he will continue to have troubles with his father that may lead him to make poor decisions in life. Some of my close friends are in choir.

2.) The dog Sandy was turned into was sick, so he went to the animal shelter that his wife volunteers at.
3.) Emily -Sandy's wife- wasn't aware that Sandy had been in an accident, so when she talked to Einstein -the dog- Sandy was upset that she didn't know who he was.

5.) I think in the next part Emily and her in law's will go to Sandy's funeral.

I am reading the book "My Life With The Walter Boys." I read the first 5 chapters and in this section, the main character, Jackie, has to go through some changes. After her family died in a freak car accident she has to move cross-country to live with the Walters- her new guardians. Only after boarding the plane does she find out the Walters have 12 sons. Her introduction begins when she’s brought up onto the Walters pool deck. She finds herself stuck between a rock and hard place when she meets Cole, a devilishly handsome, blonde haired, wet mess with muscles making his tan arms bulge and red swim trunks hanging dangerously low, flirting between inappropriate and just enough room for imagination. How could she keep her parents memory alive by being perfect if she had this hunk-of-handsome distracting her? She begins to find it difficult to fit in as she experiences new things such as public school, sharing a bathroom with 12 boys, and her first hangover. I love this book because I can totally relate to Jackie. I’ve had to deal with my own distraction before and it made everyday tasks SO much more difficult. I think some chemistry is going to be created between Cole and Jackie and she’ll also get to experience her first kiss!

I am reading the book "This World We Live In" by Susan Beth Pfeffer. I'm not very far in the book yet, but so far in the book, a girl and her family are living together in a world where resources are very scarce and the sunlight has disappeared. It has rained a few times, for the first time in what sounds like years. This section is special because it gives the narrator hope. It's written in a diary format so you hear the story from her point of view, letting you know how they feel about things. Like I said, I haven't read much yet, but the most important thing in the book is the rain. I like the book so far. I find it interesting that it's so hard for them to find resources. My predictions are that the world is going to progressively get better throughout the book. The Earth will heal.

BA 1st Hour English

What happened in the section you read? Emily and Sandy's family went to Sandy's funeral.

What is special about where this section took place? I think it was in a church, and I'm pretty sure none of the characters go to church.

What is the most important thing that happened in the section to move the story along? Nothing really happened. Emily's sister couldn't catch a plane to go to the funeral, and Emily and her mother-in-law had a talk after the funeral.

What thoughts or reactions did you have while reading? I thought that it was sad that Sandy had officially died, and that Emily didn't even help with the funeral arrangements because of her in-laws.

What do you predict will happen next? Emily will figure out that Einstein is really Sandy, just in a dog's body.

MH, 1st Hour, Book: Divergent
1: In the section I read, Beatrice takes her test and gets her results and they are inconclusive. The Dauntless girl who administers her test tells her that this is a special thing called Divergent, where you apply to three of the four factions. The girl tells her that she must never tell anyone of this new information.
2:The thing about this section that was special. Is that now Beatrice is plagued with a decision between the three that she feels don’t exactly apply to her. Now she has to pick her faction, this is a decision that is very hard for her being that her family is of a different faction than the one she is leaning toward.
3:The most important thing to move the story along was, Beatrice has to go home. The girl who gave her the test said that it was recommended that she go home immediately.
4: My thoughts include astonishment that Beatrice got inconclusive results, this is because she literally is like a mix of everyone and that confuses me so much. I am wondering why or how this is possible.
5: My prediction is that Beatrice will choose the faction with her family, despite the fact that it is not her favorite faction. She will choose family so she can live long and peacefully as an Abnegation.

The author recounts the history of how the boat stations were created and how so many ships had been destroyed out to sea. It also told how "mooncussers" would take the lumber that washed ashore and build houses.

Bernie Webber is trying to take a small wooden boat out to rough seas without it breaking and the wood washing ashore just like so many other ships.

I was impressed that people could build houses with timber from ships.

I predict that Bernie will encounter some major problems with the boat he is on and will struggle to make it to the t2 tanker.

I cannot find any connections to the book yet.

The adversity of my character is she sometimes gets angry to fast and she is trying to deal with her emotions in a different way. I thought her way of dealings with things is to overboard. I think the girl in my book with end up dealing with her emotions better. I could learn how to deal with things from my character

I am now reading a book called Invincible Lousia by Cornelia Meigs. I haven't been reading this book too much because I had just gotten it yesterday. The small bit I have been able to read in this book, a man named Bronson Alcott is on his way to the Haines house on the main street of Germantown. He is very eager to boast about his new baby, a "remarkable" daughter. He was going to the house to take all of the Haines children to see his daughter. The thoughts that I am having are mostly along the lines of who is this Bronson Alcott and who are the Haines? How do they know each other? There is no adversity being faced at the moment, aside from this man trying to reach the Haines house without interruptions. I don't know what to predict, but I am thinking something bad might happen or the children won't be as happy as he is about his baby. I can't make any connections to the book at this time.

Nick just left a talk show and went to his hotel room for the night. And the producer called and said that the talk show host was in a plane crash, and that they need prays .
Dealing with the host dying after he just say him. But Nick has to remind himself that he explained his faith to the host of the show. Because the host needed to help find himself.
When I heard that the host died in the plane crash I was shocked because at the tv show they let Nick talk for hours compared to only 30 minutes. It was sad to hear that the host didn't make it.
I believe that is going to explain that its okay to make mistakes and there is always a positive ending.
I never had somebody that died in a plane crash but its every sad and depressing for the families that were involved. But keeping a positive attiude throught the good and bad times.

NK 4th hour.
In the section I read of “Mein Kampf” Adolf was upset that his father refused to let him be a painter. It was Adolf’s dream to be a professional painter. Because his father wouldn’t let him do what he wanted, Adolf decided he would only study the subjects he enjoyed and the others he would sabotage. He excelled in history and geography. His father being so cruel to him makes me feel bad for him and the rebellious attitude that comes out because of it make him seem slightly relatable. I predict that he and his father will continue to argue about everything.

In the section I read in "Heaven Changes Everything", Todd tells a story about Colton first mentioning when he visited Heaven. The adversity Todd is facing is the pain his family felt while Colton is in the hospital, which I thought would be very hard, especially since he was so young. I predict Colton will get better. I can't make any connections to my life because I have never known anyone who went to Heaven and back.

In the section I read today, The Loric invaded the Secretary of Defence's hotel. It took place in New York, where the government plans on telling the world about a new alliance with the Mogs. Nine has been important to the Loric, he's used his powers to get to the penthouse where Sanderson is hiding. I was surprised by nine being so confident after messing up in his last battle, causing eight to die. I think the Loric will kill Sanderson even though they don't want to, because they have to.

1st hour AH
I'm reading "This World We Live In" by Susan Beth Pfeffer.
1. In the section I read, The two brothers in the story went to get fish and Miranda stayed behind with her mom to go around to abandoned houses to find supplies.
2. Matt, one of the brothers, got married. Also, the basement flooded.
3. Miranda found a pile of dead bodies when she ran away.
4. I'm getting pretty bored with the book to be honest. The part about the bodies kind of made me think about what would happen if this really happened. That was a weird thought.
5. I'm predicting that somehow, for whatever reason, Miranda's dad will come back to where they are.

In the section I read, they are in Camazotz, and Charles has been hypnotized by the Man with Red Eyes and Meg has found her father, and is afraid of Meg approaching the all-powerful IT, who Meg has no idea what that is. Calvin tried to get Charles back by talking to him about The Tempest, and that slightly got Charles back to normal, but not all the way. It's an interesting book, and it was kind of slow at the start, but now it's definitely picking up.

Next she gets thrown immediately into the action within a few minutes she has to jump on the train. and back off again where she then has to jump into a whole in the roof where she dosent know whats at bottom she is the first jumper and when she hits the bottom she gets a chance to rename herself and she chooses "Tris".
2:The thing that is special in the section that i read is the fact that a ""stiff transfer from Abnegation, was the first jumper which is unheard of Abnegation never jump first and people will remember her for it.
3:The thing that made the story move along is that the dauntless leader is making everyone move quickly and follow him this helps move the story along because Four moves fast.
4:My reaction is proud of Beatrice especially because she was the first jumper and shocked everyone she proved that anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it
5:My prediction is that Tris will continue to move up in the Dauntless and become a very strong leader she will continue to shock everyone.
